Gel Blaster SURGE | The Ultimate Water Blaster!

The next evolution in backyard fun. Shoots non-toxic, eco-friendly, biodegradable Gellets™. No setup. No cleanup. Just fun.

Designing the Gel Blaster SURGE

Gel Blaster® SURGE™, The ULTIMATE Water Blaster

We  designed the Gel Blaster SURGE  to fit the needs of our family. We knew we wanted something reliable, simple to set up, simple to clean up and most of all, fun for both our 8 year old, and our 13 year old.  We wanted an easy solution to let the boys Battle in the Backyard…or the living room, the game room, the car… They are boys.

We looked at all of the options.  Paintball, messy, expensive, and requires planning and preparation.  AirSoft – 5 million tiny plastic balls around the house, and things break.  We even tested several other Gel Blaster type weapons, but, they all look like actual weapons.  We wanted a toy, that looks like a toy.  We didn’t find what we wanted.

So, we created it.   Meet the Gel Blaster SURGE.

The Gel Blaster SURGE shoots biodegradable, non-toxic, water-based Gellets™ with just enough sting to make it exciting. Gellets™ explodes on contact and immediately begin to disintegrate, leaving no mess and no cleanup. Experience the next EVOLUTION OF FUN.

Does it hurt?

A little, but you hardly notice because you are laughing so hard.  It feels like getting shot with a rubber band, a quick, minor sting.

How far will they shoot?

The GB SURGE shoots over 100 feet, although it is way more fun at close range.

Obviously our kids LOVE getting outside and playing with Gel Blasters; but we were surprised to find its as much fun playing with our own friends! This experience is truly unique, and unlocks a level of fun not usually available in your own backyard.

Is this just like paintball or airsoft?

Less pain. Less prep. Less mess. Same fun!

What Are Gellets?

Gellets are small, colorful, hydrating balls made out of Super Absorbent Polymer (SAP), an all natural, non-toxic, starch-based, non-irritating material. Gellets burst on contact and immediately begin to disintegrate, leaving no stains or residue.

How much do Gellets cost?

10,000 Gellets come in a 3” x 3” package and cost $7.  That’s enough to reload your Gel Blaster SURGE about 20 times.

Are Gellets Safe for the environment, pets, people, etc.?

Absolutely. Gellets are made from an all natural, non-toxic, non-irritating, starch-based material. Gellets burst on contact and immediately begin to disintegrate. However, they don’t taste very good.

How do I hydrate my Gellets?

Simply add water and give them a couple hours to fully hydrate.

How long do Gellets last?

Hydrated Gellets last up to 2 weeks in an airtight container. When stored submerged in water, Gellets last up to three months. Packaged, dehydrated Gellets last indefinitely.

My partner, Christie and I have been together for over 19 years.  We have experienced a ton of adventure, several challenges, raced around the world…twice*, but together we found a balance in each other that works extremely well.

Enter children.

We have two boys, plus me, who is just a slightly larger boy. We are active.  We are sneaky. We love to battle.  We own just about every toy weapon system on the planet.

Airsoft and paintball are fun, but they require set up, planning, clean up, heavily protective gear, and require a dedicated block of time, which rarely fits into all our schedules.

“Foam Dart” weapons require proprietary darts, organized clean up and storage, eight million batteries and find their way into the donation box as soon as we lose all the ammo. Plus, the dog tries to eat all the rogue darts.

But, the biggest issue we face is finding a solution that fits well for the entire family. The older son is too cool for foam darts. The younger son isn’t quite ready for the sting of the beefier weapons.   Often, Christie and I end up playing referee.  Then we battle.  We wanted a solution that allowed the whole family to jump up off the couch, run into the backyard, and play a game together.
