This year, THE SMART BELT UNIVERSAL is renewed with wider textile straps for the many backers that specifically insisted that they must have wider and more casual-looking straps on their Smart Belts. Well, here they are.
They have unlocked a whole new level of comfort by replacing the 5-hole system with 32 adjustments. This system brings a whole new dimension of adjustability. Not many people think about it or realize it but, our waist changes as we go about our business throughout the day. A classic belt does not adjust correctly because holes are too far apart.
Forget feeling tight or loose, you’ll forget you have a belt on but your pants will stay exactly where they’re supposed to.
The Leather they use is the most exclusive leather anywhere in the world. Vegetable Tanning is almost a lost art. Because it takes longer to tan the leather with natural tannins it has been replaced by chromium tanning at the turn of the century. They get their leather from a small valley in Tuscany, Italy, one of the handfuls of places in the world where this is still done. It’s much more resilient than normal leather, it’s all-natural, eco-friendly, and really smells good too. It will come with a certificate of authenticity and a serial number.
THE SMART BELT UNIVERSAL is made out of leather that is dyed structurally, inside. As opposed to painting the top layer. By doing this, they made sure that scratches can be reabsorbed inside the leather itself, a kind of self-healing.

Their Kevlar® Core built with Kevlar® fibers is their staple innovation. Belts wear out because the leather flexes longitudinally and loses structure. Their Kevlar® Core prevents that from happening by reinforcing the whole structure like nothing else. It makes the whole thing highly durable yet light and comfortable. They are the only licensee authorized by DuPont to make belts using the Kevlar® brand.

THE CASUAL STRAPS
These straps are Polyester and are wider than our leather straps. They are 40 mm wide (1.6″) and have a more casual look. These straps do not have a Kevlar Core as they do not think it to be necessary as these Polyester straps are strong enough without it.
THE LEATHER STRAPS
These straps are our regular Vegetable Tanned Italian Leather straps with a Kevlar Core. They are dyed-through so the color will not fade and will last much much longer than anything else. They will cover a max. waist size of 115 cm / 45″ (not pants size, actual measured waist size).
